Who is he?

Duncan Rowan Ireland (Unkey Dunkey) has been described as a storyteller, a medieval minstrel, a bard, a balladeer, a talebearer, a tome keeper, a troubadour, a trouveur, a jongleur, a gleeman, the storybook guy, the story scroll guy, a story wizard, a scroll sorcerer, a bardificer, and the tallest hobbit you’ll ever meet.

He crafts elaborate and unexpectedly unfolding storybooks, scrolls and tapestries of preposterous proportions, and joyfully shows people how to craft their own.

What is Spiralling Towards Centre?

Spiralling Towards Centre (STC) is the essence of experience brought into existence from the deepest depths of imagination, manifested into a magical tapestry of preposterous proportions. An artifact of lore, conscientiously brought into this world through practice and patience with friends and family, focused and facilitated by Unkey Dunkey.

It is an expedition journal charting the scattered diamond sea our souls traverse. The highs and lows, the ebbs and flows, the unknown paths that unfold through serendipitous happenstance and the family we find along the way.

One hundred and forty-eight panels of creatures, characters, colour and creativity.

Why?

My passion is stories, and I am on a life long quest to comprehend their magic.

Because stories are magic… right?

Lines and dots forming sounds and thoughts, that can change the way someone perceives and engages with the world around them.

The lines and dots at least written in the stories that have been found and bound in books. Elaborate spells written by wordsmiths inspired by their experience and exploration of imagination.

The soundwaves of spoken lore that cross millennia’s of time.

They exist, they persist, and they allow us to experience worlds and realms outside of our own.

Stories are magic.

Magic is important.

And I made a magical story that inspires its audience, so it is important to share.
